Born and raised in Stockholm and Dalarna, Rojda Sekeröz already has achieved plenty in film. After studies at Swedish dramatic institute Rojda has directed a number of short films such as Fast (Stuck), Fittbacka-ett jävla ungdomshem, Selvi ska sova and Jungfrufärd (The Voyage). Now Rojda´s first feature film was released in March 2017 and has so far received outstanding reviews. The much acclaimed drama ”Dröm Vidare” (Beyond dreams) was nominated at Göteborgs film festival Dragon awards for Best movie, later won the public´s choice for best film as well as the Angelos award. Dröm vidare was awarded for best picture at The Norwegian film festival as well as at Duhok film festival. Rojda also won the prestigous Swedish filmaward “Guldbaggen” for newcomer of the year 2017.
Rojda has recently finished her second feature “My life as a comedian” by author/scriptwriter Jonas Gardell, which has been chosen to screen for the for time during TIFF (Toronto international film festival) in the section of Discovery. After directing the charming comedy Dejta for SVT, Rojda embarked on a fantastic journey with the Netflix original series Young Royals, gaining great reviews and recognition all over the world. Now we are looking forward to her next Netflix tv-series “Skiftet”.
