Fredrik Edfeldt (b. 1972) is a Swedish director especially known for his features The Girl (2009) and Sanctuary (2013). The Girl went on to be highly awarded both in Sweden and internationally, including ‘Best Debut Film’ (Honorable Mention) and ‘Best Feature Film’ at the 2009 Berlin Film Festival and four Guldbagge nominations including ‘Best director’ at The Official Swedish Film Awards in 2010. Also awarded ‘Best Swedish Film’ in 2009. Fredrik directed for TV the political crime thriller Blue eyes (2014) screened at Berlin Film Festival 2015. He has also directed episodes of prime time TV comedies as Cleo (2002) , Lite som Du (2004) and latest completed season two of the much acclaimed tv-series Rebecka Martinsson for More. In between the two seasons Fredrik also directed the Danish tv-serie Greyzone. As director of international commercials he worked for big brands such as Sony, BMW, Coca Cola. Lately Fredrik has directed Swedish TV-series Lea, for SVT and is currently working on the highly anticipated remake of Astrid Lindgrens Saltkråkan.
